TOURS ARE AVAILABLE YEAR ROUND on TUESDAYS through FRIDAYS, during open hours: 9am - 4pm. THEY MUST BE SCHEDULED A MINIMUM OF TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE.
Each tour is approximately 45 minutes in length.**
All groups must have at least 7 individuals and cannot exceed 20 participants.
Please be prepared to provide the following information:
- School or Organization name (if applicable)
- Grade level or age group
- Group size, including teachers/chaperones*
- Date and time including alternates
- Topics interested in or purpose of tour
- Name, phone number, and email of contact person(s)
For pre-K – 8th grade adult chaperones are required with a minimum of one adult per 10 children. During the tour we ask the leaders to be responsible for the students’ behavior and remain with them at all times.
Our standard tour is 45 minutes - this covers all exhibits in the museum. We offer a 30 minute tour for groups with young chidren (e.g. Kindergarten - 2nd grade school groups) or for groups with limited time. The abridged 30-minute tour covers only Missouri Archaeology and Native American Ethnographic exhibits. If you have a specific topic/exhibit that you wish to be included instead of one of these two main areas, please let us know and we will modify the tour to cover those areas instead.
Visitor parking is located on the first and third rows in the south lot. There is a covered drop-off area in front of the main entrance for cars only. Accessible parking is marked. Buses may unload on the straight away between the east and central entrances, with parking available behind the building in the north parking lot. Buses should not block the circle drive for unloading.
